Improving your English is a huge, important step towards both immigrating and integrating into Canadian culture!
When you arrive in Canada, you and your family will speak English on a daily basis with your new Canadian work colleagues, classmates and friends, so it is important to prepare as much as possible before arriving.
If you are currently in a country where English is not spoken, here are some tips so that you can practice.
#1 Think in English
Thinking in English will help you immensely in practicing and the beauty of this is that you can do it anywhere, anytime. If you start dreaming in English, then you know that you are really switching your brain into ‘English mode.’
#2 With a new relationship, use English immediately.
Canada is a diverse place and if you are in a major city like Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal, the vast majority of people speak 2 or 3 languages on a daily basis.
